squeeze him!

I mean, do they get much cuter? I know all of you other mom's think to yourself, umm, yes mine is the cutest! But that is how we are all supposed to feel. That is how I feel every day of Keller's life, truly. He is the cutest, most precious gift I have ever been given. Even now as I write he is yelling out of glee at the top of his lungs, looking at me from his highchair letting me know he is all done eating his peas. Heaven on earth once again. I love these moments. As you probably notice from the pics he has had a hair cut and got in his first brawl at church- I know, what a place to fight. Someone got a hold of him in the playroom at church yesterday- poor guy but the teacher said he never cried- my champ!

Five years deserves this!

Jamaica here we come! James and I will be celebrating our five year annivesary next weekend on this beach! We are going to an all inclusive resort, without the 16 month old for five days! We are so looking forward to this time away together to relax and rejoice at what a precious gift our marriage is to us both!

Busy Weekend.

We have had a fun filled weekend with quite a few first for Keller.
1st camping experience. We went to Livingston this weekend for a family reunion with James family from Houston and Louisiana and spent the night in a cabin about the size of my dining room table. Just big enough for a glorified twin for my six foot two hubby and I and a pac-n-play.
1st sloppy joes,1st s'mores, 1st campfire...
1st Crawfish boil-that was a first for Mommy as well. The pictures do not quite capture this Cajun tradition so I will try and paint the picture to give you a better idea if you have never had the privilege. A unassuming baby pool to begin with. Then come the LIVE, wiggling, creepy sounding 100 pounds of crawfish poured into the pool. Next is the salt bath- you have to pour salt and water on them so that they "purge" themselves. Oh boy, this is getting more interesting by the minute. So then you just let them swim around in the pool of salt water for a while. Meanwhile, the pot o' water begins to boil. In they go. Bit by bit the pool of mudbugs(one of the other beloved names of the FOOD I am about to ingest) begins to diminish as they face their fate in the boiling water of Cajun seasoning, corn and potatoes. Aunt Norma Lee offers me one of the first boiled. "Easy, just pull the tail off, then pick off the legs, don't eat the yellow part, those are the eggs, suck the meat out of the tail. To finish it off, suck the head for flavoring." Yikes. But you can all pat me on the back next time you see me because I ate a plate full. First and only time. Although Keller did not partake in the eating of the delicacy, he did play with them.
Keller also got to partake in his first Easter Egg hunt with his three other cousins. Such a wonderful time. We are blessed with great family. Happy Easter to you all.

Springtime is here!

And so is our porch. I wish I could find a before shot, I will look because it was pretty nasty. James knocked down the old porch structure, ripped out the screens and started from scratch. He also added the door and steps, all with his own hands. I know, he basically is the coolest guy in the world. The thing he has left is the floors, stay tuned.

10 years ago:
I was a senior in high school- ah those days. I was so excited to go to Baylor, dating my first out of town boyfriend, going to a million senior parties- I think I went to over 30 of those- gosh I had a lot more energy then, as you will see in my next answer.

Things on my to-do list today:

sleep in( 730am)
make breakfast with James
go for a long walk/spend time with God
shop for vacation clothes
straigten the house
see Annie Patillo
go to Ana Hoppe's birthday party
watch Lost
go to bed before 10

What would I do if I suddenly became a Billionaire?
pay off the house, probably build a dream house, pay off all of my friends and parents houses, go to Venice, buy my husband a BMW,save for kids colleges, buy church the property they are believing for, anything else anyone needs

Three of my bad habits are:
1. well, I would say three things I would like to not do... getting grumpy when I get out of my routine
2. judgement
3. selfishness

Five jobs I have had:
1.waitress at the Red Brick Grille and Red Lobster
2.admin assistant for the International Programs Office at Baylor
3.Made T shirts at Tshirts Plus
4.Social Worker at a school
5. Camp Counselor

Five things people don't know about me: hard to say because I am pretty transparent,
1.I have mild panic attacks when I see, hear about, or think about sharks
2.I pride myself on being a very speedy "pottyer" and "showerer"
3.speaking of pottying, I almost always go in the first stall at restrooms in public places (see I am having to pull out the bathroom stuff here)
4.I loathe the Matrix movies
5.I love the way it smells at Home Depot

I tag everyone who reads this!
