Mom's Top Ten

Keller has had a busy busy week. In the last week, literally, he started crawling, pulling himself up to an almost stand and has gotten his first tooth! Phew. Needless to say it has been busy and at some moments pretty exhausting. He is such a delight though. I will take every challenging moment because the magnificent ones far outweigh the hard. So I am including a Top Ten things we love the most about Keller today as well as some photos from our time with Robyn, Laura and little Miss Annie.
10.The way he looks when he wakes up in the morning- happy, sweet and ready to face another day of all that life has to offer.
9. His personality- so adorable. He is very loving and friendly and rarely does he meet a stranger.
8.His laugh-brightens up any gloomy day.
7. His determination- he got Mommy and Daddy's strong will which is a good thing and then sometimes poses its challenges.
6. The way he interacts with animals- I told a friend today, I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a Vet one day.
5. His chubby wubby thighs- no need to expond.
4. How much he looks like His daddy- lucky because his dad is a looker!
3. How he gives kisses- he has just started this too with his mouth wide open:)
2. The way he looks when he sleeps- melts me like butta every time.
1. The anticipation of who he will be. His name means Pure Companion and we pray that for him everyday- that he would be an amazing friend to many and more than anything that he would know the friendship of GOD!

No longer a baby...maybe

It is true. I think Keller is entering into the toddler world and saying "ta ta" to baby days. The last 4 or 5 times I have gone to get him up from his nap, he has been sitting up in his crib just chillin'. A few times he has probably done it without realizing he did, perhaps in his sleep so he has a look on his face like, how did I get into this predicament? Then there are the times he knows exactly what he is doing- see photos. So yesterday, I was downstairs folding laundry and I turned on his monitor to see if he was stirring because nap time was about over and I heard a strange muffled sound on the monitor. So I came upstairs to find my son trying to SOS me through the monitor. He was on his knees in his crib trying to remove the device from the wall. He is proving to be quite precocious....

Busy Bee's!

This past month has been full of travels for the Walker family so we are glad to be in Waco with no traveling on the horizon for a bit! Last week, we went to Dallas for a little R&R with some of our very favorite people in the world. We got to spend the night with Robyn, Brad and their dog Annie. It was such a good time and as the picture captures, Annie is in love. We then got to see our dear friends the Williams who have a little guy, Rhett, who is 9 months older than Keller and they have another little guy on the way. If great friends were money, we would be gazillionaires!!! Then for the 4th, we went to the Rangers game with our folks. It was so fun to see Keller experience the baseball game for the first time. He was so cute- eating cotton candy, clapping when the Rangers scored etc... We didn't quite make it to fireworks time but a great time was had. So now we are home and getting back into the swing of life and routine after a month and a half of being on the g. Keller and I(Adrianna) started swimming lessons this week which has been a trip. Keller can kick and splash and he loves to go underwater- pictures of this will be coming soon. He really is such a sweet and smart little guy. He laughs and chatters all the time. We fall in love with him more and more every day, wouldn't you?

We had an awesome reunion with James' sister Wendy and her husband Duane last weekend. IT was really special because we finally got to introduce Keller to his cousin Andrew who is only 3 weeks younger than Keller. Wendy and Duane have been living in South Korea for the last several years and have not returned since they had Andrew so this was a long awaited time together! The three of them are now back in Houston beginning a new journey of living in the States again. He will teaching Junior High and Wendy will be at home with Andrew. It was so fun to see them together. They are very different in EVERY way but we know they will be great buds.

We did it!

We wanted to share a very permanent decision that we made. For years James and I have loved the Tree of Life symbol and what it means to our lives. We want to be deeply rooted in God, always bearing fruit no matter the season and we want our lives to be like the leaves of the Tree of Life - " healing for the nations". So all that to say, we have loved the spiritual significance and talked about getting it tattooed on our bods at some point. So while in California, James suggested that we get it done in San Francisco on the famous Haight street where the hippie movement started- what a cool place to get a tattoo, right? So on Father's day, we did it! We both have new ink on our feet. It hurt REAL,REAL bad but it is so worth it. Gordon, our artist did an awesome job and we are loving our trees...
